La dynamique artistique aux Grands Voisins

Les Grands Voisins est un projet aux multiples facettes. Une des manières de le découvrir, de s’en inspirer ou d’y travailler, c’est par le biais de la question artistique. En quelques mois, l’ancien hôpital est devenu un lieu de production, d’exposition, d’expérimentation et sensibilisation à l’art, en lien avec la dynamique générale des Grands Voisins.

Les espaces d’exposition

Trois galeries d’exposition sont installées aux Grands Voisins, avec chacune une politique artistique qui lui est propre et l’ambition commune de valoriser la création émergente et de participer à un projet propice aux interactions avec d’autres domaines et d’autres pratiques.

Galerie Jeune Création

Fondée en 1999, l’Association d’artistes Jeune Création est en fait l’héritière du salon Jeune Peinture, créé 1949 pour constituer une alternative aux circuits de reconnaissance du marché de l’art et des institutions publiques et pour répondre à une pénurie des lieux d’exposition ouverts aux jeunes créateurs. Aujourd’hui, Jeune Création est l’un des plus ancien et plus importants collectifs d’artistes autogérés dans le monde, perpétuant sa mission d’émulation entre artistes, publics, collectionneurs, galeries et institutions publiques ou privées. Outre son salon annuel, dont la particularité est le mode de sélection des artistes par des artistes, Jeune création programme des expositions, événements, workshops et résidences tout au long de l’année. D’abord installée dans le 18e arrondissement, la galerie de Jeune création a rejoint dans le bâtiment Robin aux Grands Voisins en 2015. Elle est ouverte du mercredi au dimanche de 14h00 à 18h00, pendant les expositions et sur rendez-vous.

YGREC (École nationale supérieure d’arts de Paris-Cergy)

D’abord installée rue Louise Weiss en 2012, puis dans le 11e arrondissement, la galerie de l’ENSAPC a inauguré son nouvel espace aux Grands Voisins en juin 2016. Structure de production et de diffusion, YGREC accompagne les jeunes artistes en favorisant la transversalité et la pluralité des formes. C’est aussi un espace de travail collaboratif qui s’adapte et se transforme au gré des projets : expositions, performances, séminaires, concerts, projections, rencontres, débats, etc. L’implication d’YGREC chez Les Grands Voisins atteste de cette volonté commune de partage et d’échange artistique dans le contexte d’un lieu ouvert à tous, habité par un projet social et politique engagé. La galerie est installée au rez-de-chaussée du bâtiment Lelong, au cœur d’un espace qui accueillera, dans quelques semaines, des ateliers partagés multidisciplinaires de création et d’apprentissage. Elle est ouverte du mercredi au samedi de 13h00 à 19h00.

Les Barreaux (Le Chassis)

Le Chassis est la plateforme de soutien de la jeune création d’art visuel initiée en 2013. Outre des activités éditoriales, événementielles et fédératrices des initiatives artistiques, le Chassis dispose d’un espace de d’exposition, les Barreaux, dédié aux travaux de jeunes artistes. En dehors des heures d’accueil du public, cet espace-vitrine est visible depuis la rue, au niveau du 74 avenue Denfert-Rochereau.
Rendez-vous le 15 septembre pour l’exposition de la rentrée.

En projet, un quatrième espace, géré par l’Association Aurore, proposera bientôt un lieu d’exposition, dédié aux artistes résidents et aux les habitants des foyers d’insertion ayant une pratique artistique.

Installations in situ

Sous la direction artistique de Yes We Camp, des artistes, résidents ou invités, produisent des œuvres installées sur l’ensemble du site. Différents médias et systèmes de monstration de côtoient. La plupart des travaux ont été réalisés sur place et sont étroitement liés au projet des Grands Voisins, comme autant de regards singuliers sur l’histoire du site, sa transformation actuelle et les valeurs portée par ses habitants.

Toutes les installations sont en extérieur et accessibles aux personnes se promenant sur le site, pendant les heures d’ouverture au public, du mercredi au samedi de 10h00 à 23h00 et le dimanche de 11h00 à 21h00. En outre, une pièce-vitrine, la Cabine, aménagée dans l’ancien bâtiment de la Médecine du travail devenue aujourd’hui la Lingerie, présente chaque mois l’installation d’un jeune artiste

Ateliers partagés

Save the date !
Le 24 septembre prochain, les Voisins organisent une journée artistique : les galeries et les lieux de production seront ouverts, des déambulations seront organisées à travers le site pour vous faire découvrir les œuvres in situ, et les nouveaux Ateliers partagés accueilleront le public pour la première fois, avec des visites et des séances d’initiation en continu.
Les Ateliers partagés sont situés dans le bâtiment Lelong de l’ancien hôpital. Ils sont investis par des artistes en résidence. Il sont également ouverts à tous les Voisins, dans une volonté de mutualiser les outils de production, et au public, pour des ateliers d’initiation et des stages. De nombreux domaines d’activités sont représentés : travail du  bois, travail du métal, matériel de jardinage, peinture, sérigraphie, risographie, photographie, gravure, typographie, reliure, montage vidéo, etc. Des salles équipées de grandes tables sont également réservées aux séances collectives de travail.
