Un beau programme festif  de concerts, parades, sound systems, ateliers créatifs et projections, bercé par des rythmes de Louisiane, d’Amérique Latine et des Caraïbes. Avec en continu : studio photo, malle à déguisements, stands de restauration et buvette.

Vendredi gras à la Nouvelle Orléans
19h00-23h00 – La Lingerie et en extérieur
Concert cuivré et dansant avec The Dixie Preachers qui prêchent le jazz des origines et la musique des fanfares de Louisiane. Accompagné d’un repas typique du sud des États-Unis.

Fabrication de déguisements
15h00-18h30 – La Lingerie
Maquillage, masques et déguisements avec Les Parques et Yes We Camp.

Grande parade
17h30-19h00 – En extérieur
Venez parés de vos plus beaux costumes pour défiler avec les voisins et leurs chars maison !
Avec la participation de la fanfare Texas Couscous et la batucada Batukapté.

Block party à Notting Hill
A partir de 19h00 – En extérieur
Avec les générateurs de good vibes Specimen Vibrations et Acoulyte Sound System.
Line up : Rafael Aragon (Global Hybrid Records), Toto (Enfant Sonic), Yomi (Enfant Sonic), Cythrus (Enfant Sonic), MartiMar + guests.

Avec les groupes Swing da Alegria (samba, forró, pagodão da Bahia) et Cumbia y Cardon (cumbia traditionnelle, entre tambours afro-colombiens et fanfare de rue caribéenne).

Bury the Hatchet de Aaron Walker (États-Unis, 2010, 86mn, VOSTFR). Ce film dresse le portrait de trois Mardi Gras Indians Big Chiefs de la Nouvelle Orléans, descendants d’esclaves fugitifs recueillis par des tribus indiennes du Bayou de Louisiane. Ces tribus afro-américaines prennent possession des rues pendant Mardi Gras, habillés de costumes extravagants inspirés des tribus indiennes qu’ils élaborent tout au long de l’année.

The Whole Gritty City de Richard Barber & Andre Lambertson (États-Unis, 2013 , 93mn, VOSTFR). A la Nouvelle-Orléans, des enfants se préparent durement en tant que musiciens à la grande parade annuelle du Mardi Gras. Dans une ville dévastée par l’ouragan Katrina, l’orchestre devient pour eux une raison de vivre, et leur implication, ainsi que celle de leurs leaders, révèle la résistance de leur culture face à la violence sociale et économique de leur environnement.

  201. When I initially left a comment I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now whenever a comment is added I receive 4 emails with the same comment. There has to be an easy method you can remove me from that service? Kudos!
